The clue is in the tails.


The lizard  tail is straight, but the newt tail is bendy.  The newt tail is   adapted  for swimming.  The video below shows how well the Newt’s tail is adapted for swimming.

The lizard is the reptile.

The newt is the amphibian.

Lizards are terrestrial, they spend their time on land.

Newts are both aquatic and terrestrial, they spend much of their time on land but they must go back to water to breed.
