Atlas of Sussex Mammals

To choose a species of mammal for mapping, touch or click the three-bar menu icon, top left, and select from the ‘Species’ drop down menu. Close the menu to reveal the whole map. Touch or click the 'Species Information' button to see an image of the mammal, and then touch or click the information button below the image for details on its identification, ecology, habitats and Sussex conservation status.

On the map, coloured grid squares indicate where sightings of the selected mammal have been recorded. The red numbers indicate the total number of records for each square. Touching or hovering over a square also shows the total number of records bottom left, as well as the grid reference.

Selecting ‘All’

When 'All' is selected from the Species drop down menu, the 'Species Information' box brings up a selection of images. Navigate between these using the right and left arrows.

On the map, blue numbers indicate the total number of species recorded for the grid square. Red numbers indicate the total number of records. Touching or clicking a square lists the different species recorded, and the number of records for each one, as well as the grid reference.

To see these instructions again Touch/Click the Information button in the lower left of the screen, or Click the 'About' option from the menu.
