Enquiry Service
The Sussex Biodiversity Record Centre provides a biodiversity enquiry service, also known as a data search. The information presented in an SxBRC desktop biodiversity report is made as reader-friendly as possible, with explanations given of the terms used and legislation cited.
What's included in a desktop biodiversity report?
- Rare Species Inventory report.
- Protected Species Register report.
- Sussex BAP Species Inventory report.
- Sussex Bat Species Inventory report.
- Sussex Bird Inventory report.
- Sussex Invasive Alien Species Register report
- Sussex Environmental Survey Directory report.
- Set of three maps showing the boundaries of designated sites, habitats and ownership/management relevant to the enquiry area.
- Citation sheets for relevant local, national and international wildlife sites such as SSSIs, SNCIs, SPAs and SACs.
- Summary sheets for habitats flagged up in the map showing the relevance of the habitat both nationally and within a Sussex context.
For SxBRC staff to undertake an enquiry on your behalf, you will need to fill out an information request form. This is downloadable as an interactive PDF. Please either email, fax or post the completed form to us with a map showing the area for which you require information.
We endeavour to respond to your request within five working days of receiving your form, or for commercial enquiries within five working days of a fee being agreed. Please see our charging policy for details of this fee.
